*PUBLIC NOTICE*

It has come to our attention that there are persons in the public domain fraudulently offering the services of investment and financial analysts without being registered and authorised to practice as such under the Investment and Financial Analysts Act No. 13 of 2015, Kenya (the “Act”).

Further, we are also aware that there are Members of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (the “Institute”) who are either allowing persons not registered under the Act to practice under their names, or partner with them.

This is therefore to notify the general public that investment and financial analysis services in Kenya, can only be offered by persons who are registered by the Institute and authorised and licenced to practice as investment and financial analysts under the Act.

TAKE NOTICE that any person offering the services of an investment and financial analyst without authority to practice as such is guilty of an offence punishable under Section 20 of the Act.

TAKE NOTICE that any person who assumes or uses the titles or designatory letters, FA, CIFA and ACIFA and who is not a qualified member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts is guilty of an offence punishable under Section 36 of the Act.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Members of the Institute who enter into partnerships or allow unauthorised persons to use their names to offer investment and financial analysis services to the members of the public, are guilty of professional misconduct and shall be subject to the disciplinary proceedings under the Act.
