How to become a member

1. A person wishing to be registered as a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst shall apply to the Registration Committee as prescribed in Sec 14 of the Investment and Financial Analysts Act (No.13 of 2015).

2. A person is qualified to be registered on meeting the requirements of Section 16 of the Investment and Financial Analysts Act as listed hereunder:

  1. has been awarded by the Examinations Board, a certificate or other documentary evidence confirming that he has passed the final Certified Investment and Financial Analysts examination or
  2. holds a qualification approved before the Commencement of this Act and was registered at the time of commencement of the Act under Subsection (2);
  3. has satisfied the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Fees structure: Fees are payable by cheque drawn in favour of the “Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts” Fees payable are as tabulated below.

Categories of Membership

Associate Membership
a)  During the transition period ending 7 June 2017, the Institute may register, as Associate Members, persons who are
practitioners  in  the  financial  sector  holding  relevant  academic  and  professional  qualifications  recognised  by  the Institute with at least 3 years of relevant financial sector experience and recommendation from employers, subject to such persons satisfying the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
b)  After the transition period, only persons who have passed their professional examinations (CIFA, CFA or CIIA) and have  complied  with  section  16  (3)  of  the  Act  but  have  less  than  three  years  of  relevant  work  experience  shall  be
eligible for registration as Associate Members of ICIFA.

How to Register as an Associate Member

and Kindly attach:
1. A copy of updated CV; 
2. A copy of your national ID/ Passport;
3. Two colored passport photos;

Full Membership
a)  As  earlier  notifi ed,  during  the  transition  period,  the  Institute  may  register,  as  Full  Members,  persons  who  are practitioners in the financial markets holding relevant qualifi cations with at least 10 years of relevant experience at a senior level recognised by the Institute, subject to such persons satisfying the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
b)  After the transition period, only those persons who hold professional qualifi cations (CIFA, CFA or CIIA) and have complied with section 16 (3) of the Act and have at least three years of relevant work experience shall be eligible for registration as Full Members. This requirement shall be applicable to Associate Members who wish to become Full Members of ICIFA.

How to Register as a Full Member under professional qualifications (CIFA, CIIA or CFA)

4. ICIFA Fit and Proper form (to be signed by a commissioner of oaths)

3. Two colored passport photos;
4. Recommendation letters from previous and current employers;
5. A copy of your academic and professional certificates (CIFA, CFA or CIIA final examinations);
6. Any other important document.

How to Register as a Full Member under 10 years experience

Kindly fill the following forms:

3. ICIFA grant of Practicing Certificate form (If applying for practising certificate)
4. ICIFA Fit and Proper form (to be signed by a commissioner of oaths)

Kindly attach:
1. A copy of updated CV; 
2. A copy of your national ID/ Passport;
3. Two colored passport photos;
4. Recommendation letters to prove your 10 years experience from previous and current employers;
5. Two letters from referees and at least one must be a member of good standing in any professional body;

6. A copy of your academic and professional certificates;
7. Any other important document.
